Cool... If I read this correctly things like "archiving" old arcade game 
ROMs for MAME is now legal.   From the article:

    "For computer software and video games that require machines no
    longer available, copy-protection controls may be circumvented for
    archival purposes. "

I assume that "archival purposes" includes personal use.
