[Ldsoss] Any idea what this is?

I have a PHP question and you seem like the crowd who would know.

My wife is trying to order some sewing supplies online and the website is
trying to load -- on my machine, not just in the browser -- something called
"Zend Optimizer". I don't usually do web programming, so I'm not real sure
about this. As a security guy, this seems like a real bad idea. Zend says
that it is *the* engine that runs PHP.

The message that it is giving me is:

"Warning: set_time_limit(): Cannot set time limit in safe mode in
/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/craftersebazaar.com/httpdocs/sunshopcart/sunshop/
global.php on line 2"

I checked it out at some of the major security disclosure websites and the
major attacks seem geared more towards the server rather than the client
(other than privacy / ccard # disclosure).

Any idea what this is? Do I really need to install a client-side component
to use this version of PHP?

Thanks,

Steve
