[Ldsoss] Interesting O'Reilly post on genealogy

About a year and a half ago when I was in graduate school, a classmate and I
came to the same conclusion about the geography and timeline functionality
mentioned in the blog.  I've been wanting to work on such an open source
project, but unfortunately there are only 24 hours in a day and I haven't
had the time to.  But for those who might be interested, here's the
conclusions we came to:
