Carl is right. I can also vouch for his knowledge of the language.
As my junior companion he was always being complemented on his mastery
of the language and pronunciation. Many people we met assumed that I
had been out for a few months and he for almost two years. In fact,
he had been out for about 6 months and I had been there for 18. I
blame a year in the office for destroying my accent....
